Caution
It is frequently stated that 'primal' type therapies in the wrong hands can be dangerous. In reality, any form of psychotherapy, in the wrong hands, can be a damaging experience.

As stated the London Association of Primal Psychotherapists is a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy which is a national body that regulates the profession. What this means in practice is that our organisation is subject to five-yearly reviews by the UKCP in order to monitor our standards.

We are required to have a formal complaints procedure for members of the public and codes of ethics and practice. Our code of ethics is available on this website and all our members are required to adhere to them. Any psychotherapist, regardless of orientation, should be able to provide evidence of their adherence to these standards of practice.
